Waterfront Village on the Intracoastal
Apartments in North Palm Beach, FL
Welcome to North Palm Beach, a planned Palm Beach County village on the Intracoastal Waterway with a village-owned Jack Nicklaus golf course and easy reach of the Atlantic beaches.
North Palm Beach is a village in Palm Beach County, Florida, set on the mainland between the Intracoastal Waterway and U.S. Highway 1, roughly nine miles north of downtown West Palm Beach. It is a deliberately planned community with an unusual origin story: in 1954, the insurance executive John D. MacArthur bought 2,600 acres from the estate of Sir Harry Oakes for $5.5 million and set about creating a model residential village from what had been mangrove swamp and farmland. The National Association of Home Builders later recognized North Palm Beach as the best planned community of 1956. That planning legacy is still visible. The village is organized around the North Palm Beach Country Club, a municipal facility the village acquired in 1962 and later turned into an 18-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course, along with tennis courts and a swimming complex. Waterways and canals thread through the community, giving much of the housing direct Intracoastal or dock access, while the Atlantic Ocean beaches of Juno Beach and Singer Island sit just across the water to the east. With roughly 13,000 residents, North Palm Beach is one of the smaller, quieter municipalities in a county known for larger neighbors such as West Palm Beach, Jupiter, and Palm Beach Gardens. Its appeal is the combination of a compact, low-density, village feel with genuine waterfront access, a strong golf and tennis culture, and proximity to the broader amenities of the northern Palm Beaches. For buyers seeking a water-oriented South Florida address without the scale of a larger city, North Palm Beach remains a distinctive choice.
